U.S. Vice President JD Vance has warned that the war in Ukraine is likely to drag on, emphasizing the need for a diplomatic path forward. Speaking to Fox News, Vance said the United States must now focus on helping both Russia and Ukraine “find middle ground” to bring the years-long conflict to an end.
“This brutal, brutal conflict won’t end unless both sides come to an agreement,” Vance said. “It’s ultimately up to them.”
His remarks come on the heels of a significant U.S.-Ukraine deal, under which Washington will receive a share of profits from Ukraine’s rare earth mineral projects in exchange for continued security support.
