Ghana’s National Communications Authority (NCA) has postponed the issuance of 5G spectrum at it publishes its Consolidated Response to queries received from prospective applicants.

Applications for spectrum licences include for the 700 MHz, 2.3 GHz and 3 GHz Mid Bands for the provision of mobile broadband services, including 5G.

While the Consolidated Response addresses queries received in writing and in connection with the Pre-Application Briefing held on July 27, 2026, it also sets out amendments, corrections and clarifications to the RFA arising from the queries and the Authority’s review of the process.

The NCA advised prospective applicants to read the Consolidated Response together with the RFA and to take note of the revised timetable and all amendments and clarifications contained in the document.

In particular, the deadline for the submission of applications has been extended from Thursday, 6th August, 2026 to Thursday, 27th August, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. The subsequent dates in the RFA timetable have been adjusted accordingly. The revised timetable is contained in the Consolidated Response.
