TECNO has officially expanded its entry-level lineup with the debut of the Spark 50 4G. Coming shortly after its 5G counterpart, this new model prioritises extreme battery endurance and specialised communication features tailored for users in regions with inconsistent network coverage.
The Spark 50 4G, which is available in five colours — Blue, Grey, Black, Purple, and Pink — adopts a distinct aesthetic, featuring a rear camera layout inspired by contemporary flagship designs. To enhance longevity, the device includes an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance and has earned an SGS 5-star certification, indicating it can withstand drops from heights of up to 1.8 meters.
Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Helio G81 chipset. Consumers can choose between 4 GB, 6 GB, or 8 GB of RAM, paired with either 128 GB or 256 GB of internal storage. While positioned as a basic device for daily tasks, it features a high-end 6.78-inch IPS LCD panel with an HD+ resolution (1600 x 720 pixels) and a 120 Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling.
Notably, the device also includes stereo speakers, a feature often omitted in this price segment. The standout hardware feature is the massive 7,000 mAh battery. While it supports 18 W charging— which may result in longer charge times given the capacity—it promises multiday autonomy.
Complementing the hardware is the FreeLink 2.0 technology. This proprietary system enables direct device-to-device communication over distances of up to 1.5 km without requiring Wi-Fi or cellular signals. This feature is particularly useful for users in remote areas, provided they are communicating with another compatible TECNO device.
The Spark 50 4G runs on Android 16 with the HiOS 16 interface. Additional features include an infrared blaster for remote control functionality, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and standard 4G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity. While pricing has not yet been finalised, the device is expected to reach global markets in the coming days.
